The Destiny 2 servers experience issues often and when this happens, you will be unable to get into the game. You will know a problem when you attempt to jump into the game's menu and you're waiting to pick the Guardian you want to play, but it prevents you from getting that far. There are a handful of reasons for Destiny 2 to go down. It's a live service game, but it's still unique among that genre. There's no end time for the maintenance, meaning it could take a few more minutes, or it could go on for hours.
